How Music Wellbeing Can Help
Music can give children a way to understand themselves, express what they are feeling and find strategies that help them feel more regulated and ready to engage.
At Tuned for Growth, sessions use music as a practical and accessible way to support children’s emotional wellbeing, regulation, communication, confidence and self-expression.
Emotional Regulation
Supporting children to recognise emotions, understand what is happening in their bodies and explore strategies that can help them regulate.

Interoception
Helping children notice and understand internal body signals, such as changes in breathing, heartbeat, tension, energy and feelings and begin to connect these signals with their emotions and needs.

Communication & Self-Expression
Music, singing and songwriting can give children another way to communicate thoughts, feelings and experiences, particularly when talking feels difficult.

Confidence & Resilience
Creative experiences can provide opportunities for children to experience success, make choices, take appropriate risks and develop confidence in their own abilities.

Engagement
Music can provide a motivating and meaningful way to engage children who may find traditional approaches difficult, supporting their participation and readiness to learn.

SEND Support
Sessions can be adapted to support children with a range of additional needs, with activities tailored to their individual communication, sensory, emotional and developmental needs.
